Branches is a semi-modular synthesizer inspired by classic models, designed to operate as a standalone instrument with external MIDI support or as an AUv3 plugin within your preferred DAW application.
The audio signals generated by the oscillators are inherently connected to the lowpass gates, with the default setting oriented towards MIDI reception to trigger the complex oscillator's lowpass gate. This setup facilitates a quick start, enabling users to promptly explore personalized patch configurations.
Branches incorporates a processing style often associated with the "west coast" approach, where timbre manipulation involves adding harmonics to a fundamental sine wave. The synthesizer achieves this through oscillators that dynamically switch between waveforms or employ a wave folder to blend with another selected waveform. Furthermore, modulation capabilities allow for the manipulation of frequency or amplitude.
